This park is under new management and has been cleaned up and improved. Very nicely landscaped and very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The park is located close to Pike's Peak, the Garden of the Gods Park and other points of interest in the Colorado Springs area. While it is wooded and nicely landscaped, it is a urban park. The sites are rather close together.

The park is very scenic, situated in a canyon. The wildflowers were abundant. We saw many different bird species and a deer. The park was full of mountain bikers enjoying the hills. Rehearsals for "Texas" were going on at night, but we didn't get to stay for a performance. It had the usual problems of Texas State Parks with lack of funding for maintenance. The dump stations were both backed up with sewage. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

This is a beautiful and rustic park on a hillside just across the highway from the Rocky Mountain National Park. The sites were heavily wooded, large and had a terrific view of the mountains. We decided to stay at this park rather than the Rocky Mountain National Park because we wanted electric and water hookups. When we arrived, we discovered that they had put us in a site that had only 15 amp electric. They offered to put us in the RV section, but the pop-up site was so beautiful that we made do. Sites were gravel and not very level. There is a visitor's center, restaurant, laundry and store across the highway.
